Mr. Cheng is an independent non-executive director of Esprit Holdings Limited and Kingboard Chemical Holdings Limited – both listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of Abdul Latif Jameel Co. Ltd., one of the largest private companies in Saudi Arabia, and is an advisor to Steelcase Corporation in the U.S. He was formerly Chairman of The Link Management Ltd., which manages a portfolio of previously government-owned retail and car parking assets, valued at over HK$30 billion. The privatisation in late November 2005 was the world’s largest Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) IPO. Born in China, Mr. Cheng was raised in Hong Kong and received his higher education in the United States. He has a B.A. degree from Lake Forest College (Illinois, U.S.A) and received his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
